Intensive Day Treatment Without Staying Overnight
Trying to fix a mental health crisis or addiction inside a 24/7 rehab facility can feel completely disconnected from daily life. You learn healthy habits in a bubble, but the second you return home, old stress and triggers are right there waiting for you.
Located at our private facility in Florham Park, NJ, New Jersey Recovery Solutions gives you 5 to 6 hours of daily, doctor-supervised medical and clinical care. You learn real coping tools, work with doctors, and process underlying issues. Then you go home or to sober living every evening to practice what you learned in real life. If you run into a problem at night, you bring it to your therapist the next morning to fix it.
📊 Did You Know? According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), over 21 million American adults experience co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders each year, yet fewer than 12% receive integrated treatment for both. Our PHP is built specifically to bridge that exact gap in a real-world setting.

Residential-level care without staying overnight
How Day Treatment Works in Real Life
Partial Care gives you high-level medical treatment while keeping your feet on the ground in the real world. Instead of moving into a facility for a month and trying to restart your life from scratch when you leave, you get intensive care during the day and return to your actual life at night. You can expect:
5 Days a Week (25–30H)
Treatment runs Monday through Friday, for 5 to 6 hours each day. You sleep at home or at a sober living.
2 to 4 Weeks Total Stay
Most people stay in Partial Care for a few weeks before stepping down based on their progress.
Learn Today, Practice Tonight
Build coping tools during the day, test them at home or in sober living that night, and refine your plan the next morning.
Doctor & Nurse On-Site Daily
You work directly with our Medical Director, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors every day.
We complete a quick, confidential assessment to tell you exactly which level of care is right for you. Call 908 913 7399 to speak with an addiction specialist now.
Personalized daily structure built around your needs
A Typical Day in Partial Care at New Jersey Recovery Solutions
No two recovery journeys are identical. Your daily schedule is personalized during your initial assessment based on your substance use history, medical needs, co-occurring mental health concerns, and progress in treatment. As you reach clinical milestones, your treatment plan can evolve with you. While every treatment plan is individualized, your day may include:
1. Morning Check-In & Goal Setting
Start the day by checking in with the clinical team, discussing how you’re doing, and identifying goals or challenges to work on.
2. Group Therapy
Much of the day includes structured group sessions focused on topics such as triggers, coping skills, emotional regulation, relationships, substance use patterns, and relapse prevention.
3. Individual Therapy
You’ll meet one-on-one with your therapist as scheduled to work on personal challenges, treatment goals, mental health concerns, and your recovery plan.
4. Skill-Building & Recovery Education
Sessions help you better understand addiction and mental health while practicing tools you can use outside of treatment.
5. Planning for Life Outside Treatment
Before returning home, the focus shifts toward applying what you’ve learned to real situations, managing triggers, and staying accountable to your recovery goals to get you ready for the evening.

Need Treatment But Have to Work During the Day?
If taking 5 to 6 hours out of your day for Partial Care isn’t realistic due to work, school, or family obligations, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) may be a better fit. IOP offers the same medical oversight, individual therapy, and evidence-based group sessions as Partial Care, but in a more flexible, condensed schedule (typically 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week). It allows you to get high-level care and accountability while keeping your daily job, school, or home routine completely intact.
📞 Not sure whether PHP or IOP is the best for you? Call our Florham Park team at (908) 913-7399 and we’ll help you choose the right level of care.

What Addictions Do We Treat in Our Partial Care Program?
Our Partial Care Program (PCP/PHP) in New Jersey provides structured treatment for a wide range of substance use disorders. Treatment is personalized to the substance involved, your history of use, mental health needs, and recovery goals. Including:
Alcohol Addiction (Alcoholism)
Structured alcohol addiction treatment focused on understanding drinking patterns, managing triggers, building healthier coping skills, and reducing the risk of relapse.
Benzodiazepine Addiction
Treatment for dependence on Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium, and other benzodiazepines, with therapy and ongoing support after appropriate medical stabilization.
Cocaine Addiction
Our cocaine addiction treatment addresses cravings, triggers, compulsive use, and the behavioral and mental health factors that can contribute to cocaine dependence.
Heroin Addiction
Personalized heroin addiction treatment helps clients address opioid dependence, strengthen relapse-prevention skills, and build greater stability in recovery.
Opioid Addiction
We treat addiction to fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, prescription painkillers, and other opioids through structured therapy and individualized treatment planning.

Support for substance use and co-occuring challenges
Treating Mental Health and Addiction Together
Addiction almost never happens on its own. Most people who struggle with alcohol or drugs are also dealing with untreated anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD. If you only treat the addiction and ignore the emotional pain driving it, a relapse is almost bound to happen. Our Partial Care Program handles both sides of the equation at the exact same time. We help with:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression
- PTSD and trauma
- Bipolar disorder
- ADHD

Most Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I test positive on a drug or alcohol screen while in Partial Care?
A positive drug test is seen as a sign that you need more support, not a reason for punishment. We do not kick you out of the program for a relapse. Instead, our medical team checks in with you, assesses your safety, adjusts your daily therapy or medication plan, and gives you extra support to help you stabilize right away.
Can I bring my phone, laptop, or work device during the day?
Yes. While we ask that phones be put away during active group sessions so everyone can focus, you keep your devices with you. You can check work emails, take calls, or manage personal tasks during morning breaks, lunch, and after the program ends.
What if I don't have a safe or sober environment to go home to at night?
If living at home poses a risk to your recovery, we partner directly with local, vetted sober living homes across Morris and Essex Counties. You can attend Partial Care at our Florham Park center during the day and stay in a structured, drug-free recovery house nearby every evening. Call us at 908 913 7399 so we can help you get started.
How does food work during the day? Are meals provided?
We provide a catered lunch every day, along with complimentary snacks, coffee, and drinks during breaks. If you have specific dietary needs, allergies, or prefer to bring your own food, you can use our client lounge kitchen and refrigerators.
Can I take FMLA for Partial Care, and will my employer find out why I'm taking leave?
Yes, Partial Care qualifies for job-protected leave under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). If you work for an eligible employer, FMLA protects your job and health insurance for up to 12 weeks while you are in treatment. By law, your doctor or our clinical team only needs to certify to your HR department that you are receiving care for a “serious medical condition” and specify the required dates. They do not need to disclose your specific diagnosis or details about your addiction to your employer or supervisor. Call us today at (908) 913-7399 to learn more.
